FAQ

We are here to answer any question you may have.

Sentio

Sentio is a software company. So, we make money by developing our standard software at our own expense, and then offering it to customers for a subscription fee. Like MS Teams or Netflix.

Customers pay a small implementation fee based on the hours Sentio spends getting the solution installed and fitted to the customer + a yearly subscription fee for the Vistra software.

Market

No. Vistra is for all discrete manufacturing. But Sentio started in the automotive business and our extensive experience there has informed the development of every aspect of our solution.

Solution

Yes! And with body tracking solutions as well. Finding the right interaction method is very important for user acceptance and comfort, and Vistra supports most emerging technologies as well as the good-old keyboard and mouse.

No. Vistra has standard integrations with the major PLM systems and a flexible integration module that makes it easy to integrate with even homegrown legacy systems.

No. Some customers have CAD data in machine-readable form but have the tooling or the assembly process in a Powerpoint presentation or another system. In that case, we can sometimes still automate a data import to Vistra but they can also just be entered manually and merged with the CAD data.

It’s not necessarily that important if we are dealing with a relatively small and simple installation (few stations, static processes, etc.). But as soon as one wants to scale up the training to many stations or several plants with lots of changes like line balancing, etc. then it becomes really important. The potential for virtual training to create value in industry has been understood for several decades and the most common reason why it has not yet delivered on this potential is the cost and complexity to maintain and scale the 3d content. Automated updating and creation routines are the key to ‘going large’.

Technical

Vistra is designed to run on a Windows 10+ PC with a mid-range or better graphics processer.

There are two main ways that data security are guaranteed. Firstly, the Vistra software is installed on the customer’s own internal network as a local cloud solution. This means that data never has to leave the organisation, and no external Vistra services hosted by Sentio are required to operate the software. Secondly, the 3d representations of the product are converted from the native CAD format to an internal mid-fidelity representation. This means that even of the data should somehow be moved outside of the local network it is not possible to reverse engineer any mathmatically precise information about the product itself.

Business case

Vistra is different because it sets a strong focus on automation. We have extensive experience in looking for automation opportunities – even in environments where others don’t see them or can’t exploit them. That means that our implementations require an absolute minimum of maintenance even when parts or processes change. This makes them scalable and easier to run with fewer resources and a better ROI.

Because there is so incredibly much to gain. Our customer’s adoption of interactive virtual training as a complement to the traditional process has shown again and again that training costs can be cut in half. Quality improvements can lead to 30-40% less wastage of time and parts. These improvement can translate to hundreds of thousands of euros at plant level. So, the most important reason to do it, is that you can’t afford not to!
